When you see a diaper stain on your child's pajamas, don't panic. The key to getting out diaper stains is to act fast, because the longer they sit the harder they are to remove.

How to Get Out Diaper Stains from Pajamas

  1. Step 1: Pre-treat with a Stain Remover. Before laundering, pre-treat the area with a stain remover such as a liquid laundry detergent, dish soap, or a store-bought spot remover. Scrub gently with a clean cloth or toothbrush to work the cleaner into the fibers of the fabric. Allow the cleaner to sit for 5-10 minutes before laundering.
  2. Step 2: Launder as Usual. Launder item in a washing machine as long as you know it can withstand the heat. (If not, hand wash it in sink with warm water.) For an extra boost, add a stain-fighting booster to wash cycle. Cold water can help preserve the color of the fabric and prevent fading.
  3. Step 3: Apply Ammonia Solution. Once the item has been washed, check for any remaining stains. If there are any, make a solution of one part ammonia to four parts water and apply it directly to the spot. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes, then rinse with cold water and launder again.
  4. Step 4: Air Dry. Hang the item to air dry, or lay it flat. Do not put the item in the dryer until the stain is completely gone.

Using the method above, it is possible to get out even the toughest of diaper staining on your child's favorite pajamas. With a few simple steps, you can keep their nightwear looking and smelling fresh!
