Identifying the stain and pre-treating it as quickly as possible is the best way to ensure successful removal. For diaper stains, start by blotting away any excess liquid with a clean cloth or paper towel. To further pre-treat the area, you can apply a few drops of detergent directly onto the stain and gently rub it into the fabric.
Once the stain has been pre-treated, you’ll need to machine wash the swimsuit. First, check the item’s label for any laundering instructions. Once you know the washing temperature, add a detergent specifically formulated for delicate fabrics. Then, place the suit in the washer and select the appropriate cycle.
When the cycle has finished, take the one-piece suit out of washer and hang it up to dry in a sunny location. The direct sunlight will help fade any stubborn stains and the gentle breeze will speed up drying process. Do not put item in the dryer as the heat will set any remaining stains.
In addition to removing diaper stains, following this simple 3-step guide can also help preserve the color and condition of your one-piece swimsuit.
