Before you get started, it's important to make sure you've properly prepped the stained area. Start by laying a towel or cloth underneath the fabric and then blot a 2 inch area around the stain. This will help keep the moisture from spreading too far while you work.
To start erasing the stain, create a cleaning solution by mixing together ¼ cup white vinegar, 1 tablespoon of dish detergent, and a gallon of warm water. Stir the mixture well until everything is evenly combined.
Dip a soft cloth into your cleaning solution and gently dab at affected area. Make sure to keep majority of the solution on the outside of the cloth so that you're not soaking the fabric. Blot stained area, working from outside inwards. Repeat this process until the stain starts to lighten.
Once the stain begins to fade, immediately rinse with cool water. Make sure to avoid hot water, as this can actually set the stain instead of removing it. Be careful not to rub the fabric, as this could cause the stain to spread even further.
After rinsing the stained area, you can either hang the garment up to air dry or toss it in the washing machine. If you choose the latter, make sure to select the delicate setting and skip the spin cycle. Once the garment is finished drying, inspect the fabric to make sure the stain is completely gone.
