Begin by blotting away any excess moisture from the diaper stain with a clean, absorbent towel or cloth. Avoid rubbing the fabric, as this may spread the stain further.
Mix a solution of mild laundry detergent and cold water. Apply the mixture to stained area using a soft cloth or a brush. Allow the detergent to sit on the fabric for a few minutes before proceeding.
Once the pre-treatment has had time to soak in, place the midi dress in a basin filled with cold water. Add a capful of laundry detergent to the water and let the dress soak for at least an hour. To prevent colors from running, make sure to use the same type of water temperature (cold) throughout entire process.
Once the dress has finished soaking, rinse the fabric with cold water until all the detergent has been removed. Gently squeeze fabric to remove any excess liquid.
Before laundering, check the fabric's care label for any specific instructions. If the dress is machine washable, select a cold/delicate/gentle setting on the washing machine. If hand-washing, fill a basin with cold water and a few drops of mild laundry detergent. Wring out dress and hang it up to air dry.
