Parents who use mesh diapers are probably familiar with the struggles of trying to keep them clean. Stains can be especially stubborn, even when you use cloth diaper friendly detergents and cleaners. But you can make your diapers look as good as new, by following these helpful tips:
One of the best ways to get rid of stubborn stains is to create a soaking solution with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Mix four cups of water with one cup of hydrogen peroxide and one teaspoon of baking soda until they are completely dissolved. Allow the diapers to soak in the solution for at least two hours and then rinse them thoroughly afterwards.
High efficiency detergents are designed to be more concentrated and work better at lower temperatures. This makes them perfect for cleaning cloth diapers without leaving behind any residue or unneeded chemicals. When washing mesh diapers, it’s important to use a liquid or powder HE detergent in order to ensure that all the dirt and bacteria are properly removed from material.
Bleach and softeners should not be used when cleaning mesh diapers. The bleach can cause discoloration and weaken the fibers of the mesh, while softener will leave a coating on the fabric which could cause future problems.
When drying the diapers, always make sure to use the lowest heat setting on the dryer. This will help prevent any shrinkage or damage to the material.
With right materials and techniques, it’s easy to keep your mesh diapers looking clean and new. Keep in mind these tips when washing your diapers to make sure that they remain stain-free and in top condition.
