Marcella fabrics are a popular choice for tablecloths, curtains, and other linens due to their luxurious, glossy finish. Unfortunately, diaper stains can easily ruin the fabric, leaving you with unsightly marks. Luckily, with the right cleaning techniques, you can remove these stains and restore the fabric to its original beauty.
The first step in removing diaper stains is to scrape off any excess soil or particles on the fabric with a dull knife or spoon. Do not scrub the fabric too hard, as this can cause more damage than good.
Next, pretreat the stain by applying a few drops of liquid detergent directly to the soiled area. Use an up-and-down motion with your finger and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then, rinse it off with cold water.
Fill a separate bucket with lukewarm water and a cup of mild laundry detergent. Soak the fabric for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once the fabric has been soaked, use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub the fabric until the stains are gone. Rinse off the soap and water with cold water and gently squeeze out the excess liquid.
After all the stains have been removed, hang fabric outside or over a clothesline to dry. Do not tumble-dry the fabric with a machine, as this could cause fabric to shrink and could lead to further damage.
Following these simple steps can help keep your Marcella fabrics looking fresh and spotless. With just a bit of effort, you can have beautiful, stain-free linens that will last for years to come.
