First you need to identify the type of stain on your linen. Different types of stains require different treatments for removal. Knowing the type of stain will help you choose the right cleaning solution.
Diaper stains come in three varieties – water-based, milk-based, and poop-based. Water-based stains can be cleaned with a regular laundry detergent, while milk-based stains may require a stronger cleaner such as an enzyme-based detergent or a liquid bleach. Poop-based stains can be treated with a mixture of half vinegar and half water. Make sure to read the product’s instructions carefully before using.
Once you have chosen right cleaning solution, apply it directly to stain and let it soak for several minutes before washing. For tougher stains, you may need to let the cleaning solution sit for up to an hour. If the stain is still visible after the soak, rub a brush over it to loosen dirt and grime.
After the stain has been treated, it’s time to wash the linen as usual. Use hot water, recommended amount of laundry detergent, and the highest heat setting on the machine. If stain is still visible after washing, repeat steps two and three before running another cycle in the washer.
Once the linens have been washed, it’s time to dry them. To avoid setting the stain, use the lowest heat setting on the machine and make sure the linens are completely dry before taking them out. Any remaining stains should now be gone.
