Step 1: Rinse with Hot Water

The first step in tackling diaper stains is to rinse the item with hot water. This will help loosen any solid residue and make it easier to remove. Be sure to use gloves if necessary as water will be hot. Once you're done rinsing, set aside the kitchen utensil to cool.

Step 2: Apply an Enzyme Detergent

Once the kitchen utensil has cooled enough to handle, apply a mild enzyme detergent to the stain. This type of detergent is specifically designed to breakdown proteins from soils and stains, such as those found in diapers. Rub the detergent into the stain, then let it sit for 5-10 minutes.

Step 3: Soak Item

Fill a bowl or sink with warm water and add a squirt of dish soap. Place the kitchen utensil in the water and let it soak for 30 minutes. This will give enzyme detergent time to work and make it easier to remove the diaper stain.

Step 4: Wash as Usual

After soaking, remove the kitchen utensil from water and scrub lightly with a sponge or soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and place the utensil in the dishwasher or wash it by hand using your usual dishwashing liquid. You can also use bleach for particularly stubborn stains.

Step 5: Check for Remaining Stains

Once the utensil has been washed and dried, check for remaining stains. If you still see any discoloration or residue, repeat the above steps until the stain is completely removed.
