If you're dealing with a diaper stain on your child's favourite jumper, don't panic. It is possible to remove the stain without ruining the garment. Follow these steps to keep your child looking their best.

Step 1: Rinse the Jumper with Water

The first step to removing a diaper stain is to make sure you rinse the garment as soon as possible with cold water. Doing this will help break down the stain and loosen its grip on the fibers. Try to use as cool of water as you can in order to avoid setting the stain.

Step 2: Pre-Treat Stain

Once jumper is rinsed, you'll want to pre-treat the area for a deeper cleaning. If you have a trusty pre-treatment spray, now is the time to use it. Give the garment a few spritzes, focusing on the stained area, and let it sit for about five minutes.

Step 3: Put the Jumper in the Washer

After pre-treatment, the next step is to launder the garment. When you put the jumper in the washing machine, be sure to turn it inside out and pick a delicate cycle. Avoid using hot water, as this could set the stain, and opt for a mild detergent to prevent any further damage.

Step 4: Hang Out to Dry

When the wash cycle is done, it's time to get your jumper dry. Leave it in the washer or swing it out to the line. Avoid tumble drying, as high temperatures can cause shrinkage and set the stain. Wait for your jumper to completely dry before giving it a once-over for any remaining stains.
