As soon as you notice the diaper stain, immediately pre-treat affected area with laundry detergent. Allow detergent to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing with cold water. After that, fill a bucket with cool water and mix in a ½ cup of liquid enzyme stain remover. Submerge the stained jersey fabric in mixture and let it soak for up to 10 minutes.
After the fabric has soaked in enzyme stain remover, rinse it off with cold water until the water runs clear. Then, wrap the garment in a dry cotton cloth to absorb extra moisture.
If the stain remains after Step 2, create a solution of one part white vinegar and four parts hot water. Dip a clean white cloth into solution and dab the stained area repeatedly until the stain lifts. Let the garment air dry before mixing a solution of oxygen bleach powder and hot water in a bucket. Submerge fabric in mixture and let it sit for 15 minutes before removing the garment and allowing it to air dry completely.
For best results in cleaning diaper stains from jersey fabric, use these steps as soon as the stain occurs. Avoid using harsh chemicals or scrubbing the fabric too hard, as this can further damage the fabric. Be sure to read the care label on the clothing before beginning cleaning process.
