Before washing, pre-treat the diaper stain with a liquid laundry detergent directly onto the affected area. Let the detergent sit for 5–10 minutes. This will help loosen the stain and make it easier to remove during the next step.
Use your washing machine's highest setting with hot water and add your normal amount of laundry detergent. Washing diapers in hot water helps to kill bacteria and germs before they spread. It also helps to remove stubborn stains from clothing.
Once the garment is done washing, it is important to hang the item to air dry. Do not put the garment in a dryer as this can set the staining material into the fabric making it harder to remove. Hang the item in a well-ventilated area to ensure proper drying.
If the stain is still present after the first round of cleaning you can repeat steps 1–3 as necessary. If the stain is still visible, try using a spot cleaner such as Zout or Spray ‘n Wash on the stain and follow the same steps.
