What You'll Need

  • Distilled white vinegar
  • Cold water
  • Dish soap or laundry detergent
  • Clean rag
  • Soft brush
  • Glycerin (optional)

Step 1 - Pre-Treat the Stain

Mix one part cold water with one part distilled white vinegar and pour it onto the stain. Let it sit for 10 minutes so the vinegar can penetrate fabric and loosen up any soils or odors.

Step 2 - Apply Soap

Apply a small amount of dish soap or laundry detergent directly to the stain and let it sit for 5 minutes. This will help remove any remaining soils or odors.

Step 3 - Clean the Stain

Using a clean rag and cold water, gently blot and rub the stain until it is removed. If the stain persists, add a small amount of glycerin and continue blotting until the stain is gone.

Step 4 - Rinse the Fabric

Rinse the fabric with cold water until all the soap has been removed. Then, lay the fabric flat to dry.

Step 5 - Brush the Fabric

Once the fabric is completely dry, use a soft brush to gently brush the fabric in a smooth, circular motion to restore the fabric's original texture.

Now you know how to easily clean diaper stains from gingham fabric!
