Materials

  • Laundry detergent
  • Liquid laundry booster, such as OxiClean
  • Cold water
  • A large bucket
  • An extra-large sponge

Steps

  1. Mix 2 gallons of cold water, 1/4 cup of laundry detergent, and 1/4 cup of liquid laundry booster in a large bucket.
  2. Soak the diaper-stained seersucker in the solution for 30 minutes.
  3. Agitate the fabric by hand to break up the stains.
  4. Allow the fabric to soak for an additional 15 minutes.
  5. Drain the solution from the bucket and rinse the fabric with cold water until the water is clear.
  6. Lay the fabric on a flat surface and scrub the stained areas with a wet, extra-large sponge.
  7. Rinse the fabric in cold water again, then launder as usual.

Tips

  • For fresh stains, take prompt action to remove the stain before it sets into the material.
  • If the stain does not come out completely, repeat Steps 1-5 before laundering.
  • Use a gentle cycle for laundering and air dry for best results.
