The first step to removing diaper stains from cotton lawn is to pre-treat the stain. Use a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts water and apply it directly to the stain. Let it sit for approximately 10 minutes in order to give the solution time to work. After that, use a damp washcloth or sponge to lightly scrub the area to help loosen the stain.
When you're finished pre-treating the stain, put the clothing in the washing machine. Use the hottest water setting possible for the fabric type and add a high-quality laundry detergent. Make sure you select a detergent that is safe for colors and is specifically designed for use on delicate fabrics. If you want an extra boost of cleaning power, you can also add a small amount of oxygen-based bleach (or "color-safe" bleach) to the wash.
Once washing cycle is finished, take the items out of the washing machine and place them in the dryer. Make sure to set the dryer to the lowest heat setting and make sure there is no lint or dust buildup in the lint filter. When the items are completely dry, inspect them for any remaining stains and treat them again if necessary.
