Cleaning diaper stains from cotton gingham doesn't have to be intimidating, but it's important to take some precautionary measures before you get started. Start by checking the garment's label and make sure you're using a gentle, bleach-free detergent. Also, pre-soak fabric by filling a sink or bucket with cold water and adding some detergent before submerging the item for about half an hour.
After the pre-soaking process is complete, fill up your sink with lukewarm water and add some detergent. Then gently run a brush over the stained area while the garment is still soaking in the soapy water. If the stain persists, you may need to use a little bit of oxygen-based bleach on the garment (but again, always read the labels to make sure this product won't damage the fabric).
Let garment soak in the soapy water with the bleach for up to 30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Finally, let the item air dry completely before folding or wearing it. After this process, the diaper stain should be completely gone, leaving your beloved cotton gingham looking like new!
