Before you get started, make sure you have these supplies handy: paper towels, laundry detergent, a small bucket, and a soft-bristled brush.
Using a paper towel, soak up as much of the moisture and soiling as possible. You may need to use multiple towels, depending on the size and severity of the stain.
In a small bucket, mix two cups of warm water with one tablespoon of laundry detergent. Mix together until the detergent has fully dissolved in the water.
Using your brush, begin to scrub the affected area with the cleaning solution. Be sure to focus especially on stained area and remember to be gentle so you don't damage the fabric. Allow the solution to sit for several minutes before moving on to next step.
Using a clean sponge or cloth, rinse area with cool water. If the stain is still present after rinsing, you may need to repeat steps 3 and 4. Once you are satisfied with the results, air dry the fabric.
Once dry, check the fabric to make sure the stain has been completely removed. If the stain is still present, you may need to adjust your cleaning solution and/or scrubbing technique. If the stain is gone, give yourself a pat on the back! You've just successfully cleaned a diaper stain off of cotton canvas.
