Moms know that diaper changes are part of the job description. But while they keep our little ones both clean and comfortable, diaper changes create a different set of problems when it comes to your wardrobe. Nothing is worse than realizing you have diaper stains on your favorite bra! Fortunately, there are a few simple steps that can help you remove the offending spots and restore any stained bras to their original condition.
Before beginning, pre-treat stains with a laundry stain remover. Allow the stain remover to sit on the affected area for several minutes. Use a cloth or brush to work the stain remover into the fabric and loosen up the stain.
Fill a sink or bucket with warm water and add a gentle detergent. Submerge the garment and let it soak for at least 20 minutes to loosen the stain. After soaking, gently scrub the stained area with a cloth to help remove the stain.
After pre-treating and soaking, put the garment in the washing machine with a gentle detergent. Select the delicate cycle and use cold water. The key is to not use too much detergent or too high of a temperature which could set stain.
Once the garment has been through the washing machine, check for any remaining stains. If the stains are still visible, repeat the process again. If the stains are gone, then it’s time to dry the garment. Hang the garment to dry or place it in the dryer on a delicate cycle. Be sure not to use too high of a heat setting which could set the stain.
With a few simple steps, you can successfully remove diaper stains from your bras. Time and patience is key, as it might take a few rounds of pre-treating and washing to get rid of all the stains. But with a bit of effort, you’ll be able to bring your stained bras back to life!
