Step 1: Pre-treat With Baby Shampoo and Hot Water

Start by filling a sink or basin with very hot water, almost too hot to touch. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of baby shampoo in water and stir until it is mixed in. Place the bandana into the mix and let it soak for at least 30 minutes.

Step 2: Rinse the Bandana

Once the bandana has soaked, gently rinse it out in cold water while gently rubbing the fabric together. This helps to remove any remaining traces of the stain.

Step 3: Apply Laundry Detergent

Apply a mild laundry detergent directly to the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Pour a few drops of white vinegar on stain and let it soak for another five minutes, then gently rub the fabric together.

Step 4: Wash the Bandana

Place your bandana in the washing machine and use a gentle cycle with cold or warm water and either a mild detergent or a stain remover. You can also opt to hand wash the bandana if you prefer.

Step 5: Dry the Bandana

After washing, hang the bandana to air dry or use a low setting on dryer. If you’re still seeing signs of the stain after the bandana is dry, you can repeat the process.

Additional Tips

  • Always read the care instructions on your bandana before attempting to clean it.
  • Be gentle when scrubbing fabric, as this can cause damage to the material.
  • Test any cleaning solutions on a small, hidden area of the bandana first to make sure they won’t cause any damage.
