What You’ll Need

  • A Clean Cloth
  • Detergent
  • Baking Soda
  • Warm Water
  • White Vinegar

Step One: Blot the Stain

Use a clean cloth and blot the area, gently rub to remove any excess moisture and waste. This is important because it prevents the dirt from spreading further and setting in material.

Step Two: Make a Cleaning Solution

Mix 2 parts warm water and 1 part detergent or baking soda in a small bowl. Make sure to mix it thoroughly until a thick paste forms.

Step Three: Apply the Solution

Apply the cleaning solution onto the stained area and let it sit for several minutes. This will help break down stain and make it easier to remove.

Step Four: Rinse and Wipe

Rinse the area with warm water and wipe away any excess solution. If the stain is still visible, repeat process.

Step Five: Treat the Area

If the stain is still present after wiping, use a mixture of white vinegar and warm water to treat the area. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes, then rinse and dry.

Step Six: Let Air Dry

Once you’ve finished cleaning the area, let the shoes air dry or use a hairdryer to speed up the process. Avoid using a washing machine or dryer to avoid damaging the material of your ASICS shoes.

At-Home Cleaning Tips

  • Always test any cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area first.
  • Make sure to wipe away excess moisture immediately after cleaning.
  • Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners as they can damage material of your shoes.
  • If the stain persists, seek professional help.
