Pre-treat the Stain

Start by blotting stained area with a paper towel and cool water. This will help lift some of the stain out and make it easier to clean more effectively. When using a liquid detergent, spray the stain lightly and allow it to sit for a few minutes before you start scrubbing.

Wash in Cold Water

Once you’ve pre-treated the stain, fill a small basin with cold water and a mild detergent. Soak the tie for up to 20 minutes and then gently massage the fabric to help remove the stain. After that, rinse the tie in cold water.

Air Dry or Use Low Heat

Avoid drying your tie in the dryer as the high heat can set any remaining stains. Instead, hang it up and allow it to air dry. If you don’t have the time to air dry, you can use the lowest temperature setting on dryer for just a few minutes.
