If you're a fan of dessert wines, there may be times when you accidentally spill a little on your watch. While it's usually best to consult a professional watch cleaner in such situations, it is possible to clean watch yourself using basic household tools and supplies.

What You Need

  • Soft bristled brush
  • Lint-free cloth
  • Vinegar solution (one part white vinegar to five parts water)
  • Distilled water

Instructions

  1. Use the soft bristled brush to gently dislodge any dried bits of the wine.
  2. Moisten the lint-free cloth with the vinegar solution and gently wipe the affected area.
  3. Re-wet the cloth and continue wiping until the stain is gone.
  4. Rinse area thoroughly with distilled water to remove all traces of the vinegar solution.
  5. Pat the area dry with a lint-free cloth.

Your watch should be back in working condition and free of any dessert wine stains. Avoid placing your watch near liquids or spilling liquids on it to prevent further damage.
