A well-made uniform should be something to be proud of and any stains or spills should not be permanent. Dessert wines are some of the most tricky stains to remove due to their heavy concentration of sugar, but it is possible. Here are some tips for removing dessert wine stains from uniforms.

Step 1: Act Quickly

The longer a stain goes untreated, the more likely it will become permanent. If you notice a dessert wine stain on your uniform, try to act as quickly as possible by blotting it with a paper towel or cloth as soon as you can.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

The next step in removing the stain is to pre-treat it with a laundry detergent or stain remover. Be sure to choose a detergent that is designed specifically for difficult stains like dessert wine. Apply the detergent directly to the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before laundering.

Step 3: Wash the Uniform

Finally, wash the stained uniform as you normally would. Be sure to choose the appropriate cycle and temperature for the fabric and add a color-safe bleach if needed. Hang uniform on a clothesline to dry if possible.
