The first step in removing a dessert wine stain is to soak it in cold water to remove as much of the stain as possible. Let the fabric soak in cold water for 30 minutes before removing it and checking the progress.
Using a paper towel or cloth, dab the stain with club soda to try and break it up. Be gentle and don't rub the fabric too hard. If the stain has lightened, you can move on to next step.
Mix equal parts white vinegar and baking soda to make a paste and apply to the stain. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. This should help lift the stain even further.
Once you've applied vinegar and baking soda mixture, it's time to launder the fabric as usual. Use your regular detergent and any other fabric care products that are recommended for the fabric. Hang the garment to dry, and inspect it for any remaining stains.
If there is still a residue of the stain after laundering, use a deep-cleaning product specifically designed to remove difficult stains. Follow instructions on the product label and take extra care when applying it to the fabric.
