Before tackling stain, gather all the necessary items. You'll need:
After laying the tie out on a flat surface, use a dry, white cloth to gently blot the stained area. This will help to soak up as much of the liquid as possible.
Mix one part white vinegar with two parts cold water in a bowl. Dip a clean white cloth into the mixture and squeeze out any excess liquid. Apply to the stained area, making sure to avoid rubbing the fabric together. Let sit for 10 minutes and then blot with a dry cloth.
Mix a small amount of detergent with cold water and dip another clean white cloth into the solution. Gently rub the stain until it begins to dissolve. Rinse with cold water and blot with a dry cloth.
Lay tie on a flat surface, preferably a towel. Keep it away from direct sunlight and avoid using any heat source, such as a hair dryer. Allow it to air dry completely before wearing.
