Dessert wines are some of the sweetest, most irresistible wines out there. But when it comes to fabric, they can be a nightmare to remove! Luckily, applying quick treatments soon after spill happens can help you avoid a permanent stain.
What You Need
- Laundry detergent or laundry soap like Tide
- White vinegar
- Hydrogen peroxide
Instructions
- Blot the area with paper towels or a clean cloth to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. Never rub wine into the fabric.
- If the stain is still wet, mix one teaspoon of laundry soap with two cups of warm water and apply to the stained area.
- Rinse area with clean water and blot dry with a towel.
- Mix one teaspoon of white vinegar with one cup of warm water, and apply to the stained area.
- Let the vinegar solution sit for 10 minutes and then rinse with cold water.
- If the stain persists, mix one part hydrogen peroxide with two parts water, and apply to area.
- Rinse with cold water and air dry.
Tips & Tricks
- Be sure to test all solutions in a hidden area of the fabric before applying them to the stained area.
- Do not use hot water as this is more likely to set the stain in the fabric.
- Dry the area with a hairdryer on a low setting if necessary.
