Steps To Clean the Stain

  1. Start by dabbing stain with a damp cloth or sponge. Avoid rubbing it in too deep, as that could make it worse.
  2. Mix a solution of equal parts cold water and white vinegar.
  3. Soak the stained area of the sock in this solution for about 30 minutes.
  4. Gently rub the stain with a soft cloth or brush to help loosen it up.
  5. Rinse the sock with cold water.
  6. If the stain is still visible, apply a bit of laundry detergent directly to it.
  7. Allow detergent to sit for a few minutes before washing the socks as usual with your regular laundry detergent.
  8. Air dry the socks instead of putting them in the dryer.
  9. Tips and Tricks

    • If the stain persists, let the sock soak in a mixture of one part hydrogen peroxide and two parts water for several minutes before attempting to remove it.
    • Avoid using hot water when cleaning any wine stain, as heat causes the stain to set.
    • If stain is still stuck even after several rounds of cleaning and soaking, take your socks to a professional dry cleaner.
