The first step to taking care of a dessert wine stain is to act quickly. As soon as the spill occurs, grab a paper towel and attempt to blot the area as much as possible. Immediately after blotted away what you could from the surface, prepare a solution of lukewarm water with a few drops of gentle, non-abrasive detergent and apply to the stained fabric. Use a damp cloth to gently rub the affected area, using circular motions.
For more stubborn stains, you can also mix a tablespoon of liquid ammonia with 1/4 cup of warm water and dampen affected area with this solution. Then, let the solution sit for several minutes before rinsing with cold water. Repeat this process until the stain is completely gone.
Another effective method of getting rid of dessert wine stains is to use white wine vinegar. To do this, combine equal parts white wine vinegar and cold water in a bowl and apply the mixture to the stain. Let the mixture sit for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse with cold water. Repeat this process as needed until the stain is gone.
You may also try rubbing alcohol as a last resort. Before doing so, test the solution on an inconspicuous area of fabric first. Apply the rubbing alcohol to the stain with a moist cloth and then rinse the area with cold water. Repeat the process as necessary until the stain is removed.
By following these steps, you can quickly and easily get rid of dessert wine stains on silk nails. It may take a few tries, but eventually you will be able to get the stain out and restore your silk nails back to their original beauty.
