Rosepoint lace is a delicate fabric that requires special care to keep its beautiful appearance. Unfortunately, if you're not careful, dessert wine can easily leave behind unsightly stains. Here are some helpful steps to help you remove dessert wine stains from your Rosepoint lace.
Step 1: Remove Excess Wine Immediately
The first thing you need to do is get rid of the excess wine as quickly as possible. Blot the area with a clean, white cloth to absorb as much of the wine as you can. Make sure you don't rub the fabric or you may cause the stain to spread.
Step 2: Pre-treat the Stain
Once you've removed the excess wine, you need to pre-treat the stain with a stain remover. Use a product specifically designed for removing wine stains from delicate fabric like Rosepoint lace. Follow directions on the packaging when applying the product.
Step 3: Wash the Lace
Once the stain remover has been applied, you can machine wash the lace according to the care instructions. Use a mild detergent and cold water, as hot water can cause the stain to set. If the stain still remains after washing, repeat the pre-treatment process and then hand wash lace.
Step 4: Rinse and Dry
Once stain is removed, make sure to rinse the fabric thoroughly to remove any residue from stain remover. After rinsing, lay the Rosepoint lace flat to dry. Do not put it in the dryer, as this could cause the fabric to shrink or the stain to set.
Step 5: Repeat as Needed
If the stain doesn't come out the first time, don't worry! Just repeat steps two through four until the stain is completely gone.
