Removing dessert wine stains from rayon requires some patience, but the process remains relatively simple. Here's what you'll need to do.

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Once you've spilled some dessert wine on your rayon, first step is to blot the stain with clean paper towels. Don't rub the stain as this can spread it across the fabric and make it harder to treat. Use a gentle pressing motion instead. Keep replacing the paper towels when they become saturated with wine.

Step 2: Pre-treat with Dish Detergent

Mix one teaspoon of liquid dish detergent with two cups of cool water. Dip a white cloth into soapy water and use it to saturate the stained area. Wait for five minutes, then blot the area with a new cloth to remove the soapy water.

Step 3: Rinse the Area with White Vinegar

Pour one cup of white vinegar into a bowl. Soak a clean cloth in the vinegar and dab the stained area. Blot the area with paper towels until all vinegar has been removed.

Step 4: Treat with Ammonia

Finally, use ammonia to break down the tannins in the dessert wine. Mix one tablespoon of clear household ammonia with one cup of water. Soak the stained area with a white cloth. Allow the solution to sit for five minutes, then rinse the area with cold water.

Step 5: Air Dry and Check the Results

After rinsing the area, allow fabric to air dry. Once it is dry, examine the stain closely to check if it has been completely removed. If not, simply repeat the steps above.
