When a stain is still wet, the best way to tackle the situation is to blot affected area with a clean cloth or paper towel. Blotting helps soak up the extra liquid and prevents the stain from spreading. Avoid rubbing the fabric as this will only push stain further into the material.
The next step is to treat the stain with white vinegar. Start by pouring a small amount onto the affected area and then use a cloth or sponge to work the vinegar into the material. Let the vinegar sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.
Baking soda is a great tool for tackling tough stains and it works especially well on dessert wine. To make the paste, mix together equal parts of baking soda and water until it forms a thick paste. Apply the paste to stain and let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing it off.
If the stain is still visible after treating it with vinegar and baking soda, you can try using a laundry detergent or a specialized stain remover. Be sure to read the instructions on product before attempting to use it. Rub the detergent or stain remover into the stained area and then rinse it off. You may need to repeat this process a few times before you see the desired results.
Finally, wash your rash guard as you normally would in cold water. If the stain is still visible, you may want to presoak your garment in a solution of detergent and water before washing. Once your garment is washed, give it a final airing with a dryer set on low heat.
