Removing dessert wine stains from raincoat can be a difficult task, especially if the stain has already been set in. However, with the right materials and a bit of patience, you can easily restore your raincoat to its former glory.
Before you start the cleaning process, it’s important to first prepare the stain by gently scraping off any excess dried wine. Then, soak the area with lukewarm water for about 15 minutes, allowing stain to soften up.
After the stain has softened up, you can then apply a pre-treater, such as a liquid laundry detergent or an oxygen-based cleaner. Massage the product into the stain in a circular pattern, making sure that stain remover reaches all areas of the fabric. Allow the stain remover to sit for about 5 minutes.
Once the stain remover has been given enough time to work its magic, you can then proceed to launder the raincoat as usual. Place the garment in the washing machine and select appropriate cycle, being sure to use cold water instead of hot. For best results, choose a gentle or delicate cycle. Allow garment to air dry afterwards.
If the stain still remains after laundering, you can try spot treating the area with a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda. Gently massage the solution in a circular pattern, then rinse off with cold water. Once again, allow the raincoat to air dry.
Taking care of dessert wine stains on your raincoat doesn’t have to be a difficult task. With the right materials and a bit of patience, you can have your raincoat looking like new in no time!
