Dessert wine stains are tricky because of the high sugar content. That’s why it’s important to take immediate action and carefully follow each step. To start, here’s what you need:

  • Small bowl or cup
  • Cold water
  • White cloth
  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • Enzyme-based pre-soak stain remover (optional)
  • Liquid bleach (optional)

Once you have your supplies, place the stained area of polo shirt under cold running water. This will help remove as much of the stain as possible, while preventing it from setting. Then, fill a small bowl or cup with cold water and add a few drops of liquid laundry detergent. Soak the affected area of shirt in the mixture for 10-15 minutes.

After the allotted time has elapsed, use the white cloth to dab the stained area. Do not rub, as this could cause the stain to spread. Keep dabbing until most of the stain is gone. If all or some of the stain remains, mix a few drops of enzyme-based pre-soak stain remover with cold water and soak stained area for an additional 10-15 minutes. For tougher stains, add a few drops of liquid bleach to the water.

When the stain is removed, rinse polo shirt thoroughly and launder as usual. Don’t forget to check if the stain is completely gone before drying. If not, repeat the steps above until the stain completely disappears.
