After an outdoor summer party, you may be left with unsightly stains on your pavers or concrete surface. The dreaded dessert wine stains of pink and purple tones stand out amongst your backyard's aesthetic. To avoid these stains ruining the look of your outdoor space, take these steps to remove them quickly and easily.

Step 1: Blot Up Excess Wine

Before anything else, start by removing any excess liquid that is pooled on the surface. Use absorbent paper towels or a clean rag to blot up the liquid in a gentle motion until area is dry. In certain circumstances, you may even need to use a wet-dry vacuum, but this should only be done if stain has spread and been left for a number of days. Make sure you do not rub the stain as this could cause it to become more stubborn and harder to remove later.

Step 2: Treat the Stain Immediately with Soap and Water

Once the area is dry, you can begin to tackle the stain itself. Start by applying a generous amount of mild soap and warm, but not hot, water to the stained area. Let the soap work into the stain for a few minutes before scrubbing it gently. If stain does not come off, move on to step 3.

Step 3: Use Vinegar and Baking Soda

For tougher stains, try mixing equal parts distilled white vinegar and baking soda and apply it to affected area. The mixture will begin to foam, so let it sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. After the mixture has been washed away, you should find stain has been removed.

Step 4: Deodorize the Area

Once stain is gone, you may want to add a pleasant scent back to the area. To do this, mix one teaspoon of lemon juice in one liter of warm water and spray it liberally onto the area. The citrusy aroma will help to eliminate any lingering smells of the spilled dessert wine.

Conclusion

Removing stains from your pavement or concrete can be a simple task as long as you act promptly and use right methods. With these steps, you can easily get rid of dessert wine stains in no time and keep your outdoor space looking beautiful.
