The first step to take when cleaning up a dessert wine stain is to blot the stain with an absorbent cloth. This will help remove some of the liquid from stain and prevent it from seeping deeper into the fabric. You should press firmly, but not too hard so that you don’t spread the stain further.
Once you’ve blotted away some of the liquid, you should treat the stain with a mild detergent. You should be sure to select a detergent that is designed for use with delicate fabrics and materials. Once you’ve applied the detergent to the stain, let it sit for a few minutes. Then, use an absorbent cloth to blot the stain once again.
The last step in the process is to rinse the stain with cold water. This will help remove any residual detergent or stain from the fabric. After you’ve rinsed stain, lay the fabric or garment flat to dry. Do not place in dryer as this could set the stain and make it even harder to remove.
