Whether you had a bit too much of your favorite sweet wine or accidentally spilled it on your panties, there is no need to panic. Dessert wine stains can be tackled with the right technique and the right materials.

Cleaning Dessert Wine Stains from Panties

The first step is to get a bowl and fill it up with cold water and a few drops of mild detergent. Make sure detergent is color-safe and appropriate for the material your panties are made from. Place the stained area down in the bowl and let it soak for about two minutes. Afterwards, take a soft brush and rub it gently against stain. Do this for a few minutes and then rinse off the detergent with cold water.

For more difficult stains, you can try using white vinegar. Mix a solution of one part white vinegar and one part cold water in a bowl and dip the stained area in. Let it soak for five minutes before rubbing the fabric with a brush. Then rinse it off with cold water and let it air dry.

If the stain still persists, there is no need to worry. Simply mix a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid and a cup of warm water in a bowl. Soak stained area in solution and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rub the fabric gently with a brush and then rinse the detergent off with cold water. After that, pat fabric dry with a clean towel.

Preserving the Fabric

No matter how careful you are, dessert wine spills happen. The key is to act quickly to prevent the stain from setting. Immediately remove any excess liquid from the area and then apply a small amount of liquid laundry detergent and cold water onto the spot. Let it sit for a few minutes and then blot stain with a cloth. Rinse off the detergent and repeat the process until the stain disappears.

When laundering the panties, make sure to wash them in cold water and use a gentle cycle. If the stain is still present after the cycle is complete, turn the garment inside out and spray the affected area with a pre-wash spot remover. Let the product soak for a few minutes and then wash and dry again as instructed above.
