Stains from a delicious dessert wine can be especially difficult to remove from leather or suede mules. To tackle job, you will need a few materials that you likely already have in your home.

Start off by filling a bowl with warm water and adding a mild detergent such as dish soap or laundry detergent. Dip a clean cloth into the water and soap solution and wring it out. Gently scrub the stained area of the mules in a circular motion, being careful not to damage the material. The stain should start to fade.

Next, make sure to rinse the area with clean water. This will help ensure that all of detergent is removed. Allow the mules to air-dry completely overnight.

If the stain persists, try making a paste of baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then, gently scrub the paste off with a damp cloth. Finally, rinse the area with clean water and allow it to air-dry.

Gently apply leather shoe polish to the stain and around area to help blend in color. Let the polish dry before wearing your mules. With a bit of patience, you will soon be able to wear your favorite pair of mules again.
