What You'll Need

  • Laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Soft-bristled brush
  • Clean, white towel
  • Water

Instructions

  1. First, mix together one teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent and two tablespoons of white vinegar with a half a cup of cold water in a container or glass bowl.
  2. Using a soft-bristled brush, apply the solution directly to the stain and let it stand for five minutes.
  3. Next, sprinkle a small amount of baking soda onto the taffeta fabric, then gently brush the area with a soft-bristled brush to help work the baking soda through the fabric.
  4. Using a clean, white towel, blot the area with cold water until all of the detergent, vinegar and baking soda are removed from the fabric.
  5. If stain persists, repeat these steps as many times as necessary until the stain is completely gone.

With these steps completed, your midi dress is sure to be free of dessert wine stains and looking fresh and new again.
