Start by blotting stain with a clean, dry towel. This will help to remove some of the excess moisture from the fabric and prevent the stain from becoming larger. Don’t rub it in—blot only.
Once you have blotted the excess liquid, gently spray a stain remover, like Spot Shot, directly on the stain. Allow stain remover to sit for several minutes and then gently lightly blot the stain with a clean cloth. Repeat this process until the stain is completely gone.
The next step is to rinse stain with water and a mild soap. Rub the fabric together between your fingers, then rinse the area with a damp cloth. Finally, allow the fabric to air dry.
If you’re still struggling to get the stain out, you can try using a mixture of vinegar and warm water. Mix one cup of warm water with one tablespoon of vinegar and dab the stain with a cloth soaked in mixture. Let the fabric air dry after rinsing.
Removing dessert wine stains doesn't have to be a long, difficult process—as long as you take the time to act quickly and use right techniques. It's also important to remember to always test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous portion of the fabric first, to make sure it won't cause any damage.
