Removing Dessert Wine Stains

  1. Check the fabric care label for your hair tie to make sure fabric is colorfast. If not, you should take your hair tie to a professional cleaner.
  2. Start by mixing a few drops of laundry detergent with ¼ cup of white vinegar in a bowl.
  3. Soak a sponge or cloth in the mixture and rub it over the stained area.
  4. Rinse sponge or cloth with warm water and continue rubbing until the stain disappears.
  5. Machine-wash as usual.

Preventing Future Stains

  • Wear an apron when enjoying dessert wine.
  • If possible, wear darker clothing that can hide the stain.
