Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Start by blotting up as much of spilled wine as possible. Use a white cloth and press firmly, but gently.
  2. Sprinkle Borax over the stain and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Mix equal parts club soda or white vinegar with warm water and apply the mixture to the stain.
  4. Allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water.
  5. If the stain persists, apply a small amount of laundry detergent to the area.
  6. Allow the detergent to sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water.
  7. Blot the area with a clean cloth until the stain is gone.
