First, you should try to blot up any excess liquid that is sitting on top of your Fred Perry clothing by gently pressing a white cotton cloth onto the fabric. Make sure to avoid scrubbing, as this could cause the stain to spread or discolor the material.
The next step is to pre-treat the stain with a detergent that is specially formulated for delicates, such as a gentle, enzyme-free detergent or a mild laundry bar soap. Scrub the area with a soft brush and then let sit for five to 10 minutes.
After the pre-treatment has had a chance to work its magic, you will want to rinse the excess detergent or soap off with warm water. You can rinse the garment in your sink or bathtub, but make sure to use cold water instead of hot, as heat can set the stain. Then, squeeze out any excess water and blot fabric with a clean, white cloth.
Fill a bucket or sink with cold water and add a gentle detergent, such as Woolite, again. Submerge your Fred Perry garment and let it soak for at least 30 minutes. This process helps the remaining stain particles to loosen from the fabric.
Once the fabric has soaked for a sufficient amount of time, put it in your washing machine with a delicate cycle and low temperature. Add a small amount of detergent and a scoop of white vinegar; latter helps to remove any stubborn odor that may linger. Hang the clothing to dry or tumble dry on low heat.
