First, you should gently rub a pre-treatment stain remover into the material, then let it sit for 5-10 minutes. This will help break down the stain, making it easier to remove.
Fill a tub or basin with lukewarm water and a cup of distilled white vinegar. Submerge the stained area of gown in the solution, and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. The vinegar helps loosen the stain and restore the fabric's natural pH level.
Once you have removed the gown from the water and vinegar mixture, wash it on a gentle cycle in cold water with a mild detergent. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals as these can damage the fabric.
To finish up, lay the gown flat on a clean towel and air dry it. Never use a dryer when trying to remove a stain from a delicate fabric.
