It's happened to the best of us–you're pouring a glass of wine and, oops, some spills on your precious fabric sofa. But, don't worry. Whether it's red wine, white wine, or a sweet dessert wine, there are definitely ways to get that one-off stain off your furniture.

Using a clean, white cloth, immediately start blotting up stain. Do not rub or scrub the stain as this may spread it. Make sure to press down firmly, but be gentle. If the stained area is large, use a vacuum cleaner to suck up any spilled wine.
Mix together some dish soap and warm water in an equal ratio. You want to make sure soap does not contain bleach as this could damage the fabric. Dip a soft-bristled brush into the cleaning solution and gently work it into the stain. Do this for a few minutes before rinsing with cold water.
If stain is still present after the initial cleaning, mix together a paste of baking soda and water. Apply the paste onto the stain and use the same soft-bristled brush to work it into the fabric. Allow it to sit on the stain for about 20 minutes, then rinse off with cold water.
Finally, dry the stain by using a soft towel to pat the area dry. Use a hairdryer or fan to speed up drying process.
