Step 1: Blotting the Stain

The best way to start, is to carefully and gently blot the area with a cloth or paper towel. This will help absorb excess liquid and make whatever steps come next much easier. Make sure to move the cloth or paper towel carefully in circles around the stain to avoid spreading it further.

Step 2: Apply Detergent

Apply a few drops of detergent directly to the stained area and let it sit for a few minutes. The detergent will help break down the stain, making it easier to remove. To ensure the detergent does not penetrate too deeply into fabric, consider applying a bit of white vinegar as well.

Step 3: Wash and Rinse

Once the detergent and vinegar have been applied, it's time to wash the Dashiki. Fill a bucket with cold water and a few drops of oxygenated bleach or color-safe detergent. Submerge the Dashiki and let it soak for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with clean cold water.

Step 4: Set in Sunlight

Once the Dashiki is washed and rinsed, hang it up in a sunny area to dry. When fabric dries in direct sunlight, the UV rays can help fade the stain. Just make sure to check often to avoid excessive fading.

Step 5: Repeat as Necessary

If the stain doesn't fully disappear after the first attempt, you can try repeating the previous steps. If the stain still persists after a few tries, contact a professional laundry service.
