Steps to Clean the Stain
- Dab the cloth with cold water and blot the stain. Do not rub the fabric as this can cause further damage.
- Combine one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid and one cup of warm water and mix it together. Moisten a terry cloth with this mixture and dab the stain.
- Rinse affected area with cool water and gently press a clean, white cloth to remove solution.
- Mix one tablespoon of vinegar with one cup of warm water and apply to stain.
- Rinse the affected area with cool water then press a clean, white cloth against it to remove the vinegar solution.
- Apply a laundry pre-treatment product like Shout or OxiClean and work it into the stain. Let it sit for five minutes.
- Throw shirt in the washing machine and select the delicate cycle. Use a mild detergent and cool water.
- Take out shirt and inspect it. If there is still a stain, repeat steps 1 through 7 until the stain is gone.
Additional Tips
- Always wash colored clothing separately to avoid any potential color bleeding.
- Do not put the shirt in the dryer until you’re sure the stain is completely gone.
- If stain is still there after following all the steps, bring the shirt to a professional dry cleaner for special treatment.
