To begin, fill a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water and a ½ cup of oxygen bleach. Submerge the stained area completely, allowing the fabric to soak for 20 minutes, then rinse with cold water until stain is gone.

If the stain persists after rinsing out the oxygen bleach, mix together a solution of ½ cup of white vinegar, 2 tablespoons of dish soap, and 1 quart of hot water in another bucket. Soak the chino’s stained area in this mixture for 15 minutes. Rinse with cold water and check to see if the stain is gone.

If these two methods have not removed the stain, you can try using an extra-strength stain remover or pre-soaking the item in a laundry detergent specifically designed to tackle wine stains. Follow the instructions on the product packaging, and make sure to rinse the item thoroughly with cold water afterwards.

Once the stain is gone and the fabric is fully dry, apply a fabric protector to help prevent future staining. With all this work done, you can be confident your chinos are ready to wear again after their dessert wine stain!
