Step 1: Blot Stain

If the stain has just occurred, use a clean cloth to gently blot at the stain. Don’t use a lot of pressure as you don’t want to push the stain further into the fabric. The goal is to absorb as much of the spill as possible.

Step 2: Treat Stain

Once you’ve blotted stain, you can pre-treat it with a laundry detergent. If an oily, greasy stain like a dessert wine stain, use a grease-cutting product such as dishwashing liquid. Apply it directly to the stain, soaking the entire area, and let it sit for about ten minutes.

Step 3: Rinse the Stain

Using cold water, rinse out the soap from the stained area. Be sure to be gentle and avoid rubbing the fabric as this can damage the delicate chiffon georgette fabric.

Step 4: Use an Enzyme Cleaner for Tough Stains

If stain is proving stubborn, it’s time to bring out the heavy artillery: enzyme cleaner. Spray or pour a small amount on the stain and let it sit for forty-five minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Step 5: Wash and Hang to Dry

Once you’ve removed the stain, add the garment to your regular laundry cycle, using cold water. Then hang the garment to dry, avoiding direct sunlight. Avoid tumble drying chiffon georgette fabrics as heat can cause additional damage.
