The first step you should take in cleaning a dessert wine stain from charmeuse fabric is to blot up any excess liquid. Doing so will help prevent the stain from spreading and make it easier to treat. Use a clean cloth or paper towel to carefully dab at the stain, being careful not to rub the fabric and spread the stain further.
Next, mix a cleaning solution to help remove stain. You’ll need to combine 1 teaspoon of dishwashing detergent, 1 teaspoon of white vinegar, and 2 cups of warm water. Mix together these ingredients until completely combined, and then use a clean cloth to apply the solution directly to stain.
Finally, rinse the stained area with cold water, and then launder the garment as usual in cold water. Be sure to check that the stain has been removed before drying your garment, as heat will set any remaining stain. If the stain is still visible after laundering, repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the stain is fully removed.
