Have you ever had an unfortunate moment when those yummy dessert wines you love can make a mess on the most delicate fabrics? Whether you accidentally spilled some on your new capris or are dealing with a stain from an old t-shirt, this guide is going to help you get rid of that sticky mess. The first step is to remove any excess liquid by blotting the stained fabric with a paper towel or clean cloth. It is important to do this without rubbing, as it may spread the stain further into the fabric. Once the excess has been removed, create a stain remover solution with one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of warm water. This solution is effective for removing wine stains and so much more. Once the solution is made, fully submerge the stained portion of the capris into the bowl and let it soak for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, take the capris out and gently blot the stained area with a clean cloth. If the stain isn’t completely removed, repeat the soaking step until the stain has lifted completely. Once the stain is gone, rinse the capris with cold water, then hand or machine wash them in the warmest water recommended for the fabric. Additional Tips: Remember to always check the fabric care label before you begin cleaning. Avoid using hot water or the dryer unless the clothing label says it’s ok because the heat can set the stain in the fabric permanently.
