Accidents happen; so if you've spilt some dessert wine on your Burberry clothing or accessories, don't panic. Dessert wine is typically high in sugar and can be quite hard to get out, but if you take the right precautions, you'll be able to rid your clothes of that pesky stain with ease! Here’s what you should do:

  1. Blot the area as soon as possible with a clean cloth or a paper towel to absorb as much of the wine as you can – avoid rubbing it in as this could spread stain.
  2. Mix equal parts white vinegar and cold water in a container. Soak a cloth in vinegar and water mix and blot the stain.
  3. Rinse out the area with cool water before applying a small amount of laundry detergent to wet spot.
  4. Soak the garment in cold water for between half an hour and an hour before washing in washing machine on a cold cycle.
  5. If the stain still persists, pour more vinegar onto the affected area and leave it for 10 minutes before washing again.
  6. When finished, hang the item to dry – avoiding the use of a dryer.

Once finished, your Burberry garment should look as good as new! If you’re in any doubt about effectiveness of these methods, you can always take your item to the dry cleaners for treatment.
